 Benvenuti a EUROVIA!
La concezione moderna del pellegrinaggio come concreta fonte di energia. Questo sito internet svolge una funzione di piattaforma del pellegrino e per il pellegrino. Tutti sono invitati a scambiare le proprie esperienze con gli altri e ad esprimere la propria opinione sui contributi degli altri. Ogni pellegrino sará sempre grato di ricevere consigli utili. Siamo convinti che solo insieme possiamo integrare il pellegrinaggio nella nostra societá, con tutti i suoi effetti positivi. È giunta l´ora di incamminarci e ci rallegriamo di ottenere un forte sostegno a questo progetto internazionale.

A pilgrimage to Rome from the SouthOn the VIA FRANCIGENA DEL SUD or “IL CAMMINO PER ROMA” april 12th – 27th, 2011
The Roman VIA APPIA (Regina Viarum or Queen of all Roads) goes back to the 4th Century b.C. Apostles walked on it, emperors, and Popes, saints as S. Francis of Assisi and S. Thomas of Aquino, artists as Petrarca and Tasso and Goethe and some music composers. Along it are running the paths of the Via Francigena or Via dell’Angelo, used by pilgrims for 10 centuries but today altogether forgotten. Since 4 years we are striving to revive it, walking from beyond the banks of the river Garigliano to Rome (some 220 km in 16 days).
The itinerary is very interesting (Roman temples, cistercian Basilicas, monasteries and hermitages, on sandy beaches along the sea, on mountains, on the shores of 4 lakes, in natural parks, in thick woods and Mediterranean vegetation, through medieval villages, 20% on original Roman roads, 40% on mountain’s or country paths etc.). We make an effort to enjoy the cultural, spiritual and social values of the way, to remember the work of artists (Goethe’s “Italienische Reise” describes this route), to attend concerts of ancient local music composers. Above all we appreciate the company of our fellow pilgrims. We will take part of some ancient processions of the Holy Week.
At the arrival we will receive the “Testimonium” a recognition document from the Vatican.
In each place we will meet local communities. However, you can avoid any involvement and enjoy the time on your own.
On the negative side. Some 8 % of the way is on national roads with heavy traffic and 22% is on paved roads (but with limited traffic).

Mit diesem Buch möchte ich den
Pilgern, die noch nicht in Canterbury gestartet sind und denen, die die
gesamte Pilgerwanderung unternehmen möchten, alle mir zur Verfügung
gestandenen Informationen geben. Ich habe ein Diktiergerät mit mir geführt und
alles, was ich sah und erlebte, darauf gesprochen. Zu Hause schrieb ich dann
alles nieder. Der Verlag SHAKER media hat das Cover vonl meinem Rom-Foto
gestaltet. Alles andere stammt von mir persönlich.

Der Abschied von meinen Liebsten war
schwer! Noch nie in meinem Leben musste ich weinen, wenn ich gegangen
bin - heute war es soweit! Mir ist gar nicht klar, dass ich nun „mal
weg bin". Zu stark noch die Emotionen vom Geschenk von John und
Abschied.

Freue mich aber auch auf die Zugfahrt, Landschaften beobachten und meinen Gedanken nachhängen.
Bin
um ca. 12.00 Uhr in Mailand angekommen und musste noch ein Billett
holen und die Reisezeiten für die Weiterfahrt nach La Spezia und dann
noch nach Massa di Marina herausfinden, wo ich übernachten will und
mein Abenteuer beginnen soll.

2.000 km nach Rom - live von Martin und Guido
 Wir freuen uns über Euren Besuch auf unserer Website,
mit der wir Euch die Möglichkeit geben wollen, uns virtuell
auf unserer Pilgerreise nach Rom zu begleiten.
Ein anderer Via Francigena. Ein spannender Pilgerbericht auf der Plattform von Eurovia.
Wir, das sind Martin und Guido, werden uns im Mai 2009 gemeinsam im kleinen Westerwalddorf Marienrachdorf auf einen langen Fußmarsch begeben, der nach rund 2.000 km in der ewigen Stadt enden soll.
Auf diesen Seiten haben wir Euch ein paar Infos über uns, den Weg und noch ein paar Dinge mehr zusammengetragen und wollen Euch nicht im Unklaren darüber lassen, was uns „geritten“ hat, diese nicht eben kurze Strecke unter die Füße zu nehmen.
